Guest Guest
I have heard about the controversy surrounding this before, but have never tried it. It's slowly making its way to the US. (3 places in Indiana sell it according to the site... one within 20 miles of me! LOL) I understand that the controversy stems from the labeling. Quorn producers & sellers want it labeled to look more like it's a mushroom product, and those who are concerned about the safety of Quorn want it labeled as the mold that it is. If there are mold allergies in your family, you would want to approach this product carefully, if at all. http://www.quorn.com/ http://www.cspinet.org/quorn/ I guess I might compare it to eating the lumpy grey corn mold (which might be what this is, after all). I hear some people cook & eat that. Quote Link to comment
Deblyn
Iread about that controversy too Cat. I'm not bothered about what it is called, although technically it is not a mushroom product, but like with a lot of things, if they put the truth on the packet, no-one wold buy it! It's worth trying if you can get hold of it, though. Quote Link to comment
