CrabGrassAcres Posted December 24, 2007 Share Posted December 24, 2007 4 cups cane sugar 12 oz evap milk 1/4 cup butter 1 tsp vinegar Bring to boil over med heat stirring till the sugar is completely melted. Boil 5 minutes. Take off heat and add 1/2 cup peanut butter or other nut butter 2 tsp of vanilla Stir till pb is melted and mixed in well. Mix in 1/2 cup of potato granules (I don't know how much potato flakes you would need, I only have granules.) Sprinkle a little on the candy then stir it all in before sprinkling a bit more. DON'T dump all the granules in at once, it will make a lumpy mess. Pour into buttered dish and refrigerate over night or until firm. Form the candy into logs then roll in crushed nuts. (If your butter and/or peanut butter is unsalted, you can add 1/2 tsp of salt to the original ingredients.) Link to comment
