"New"Virus in China hitting children per CNN

CNN is reporting a new enterovirus in China this morning hospitalizing numerous children. At least 1 death reported. Apparently it causes hand,foot and mouth disease. Interesting.

Enterovirus-71 is not new. It is one of many enteroviruses. Hand, foot, and mouth disease is controlled by good hygiene - washing hands, etc. It is more commonly spread in day care centers where hygiene is not good and feces contamination is spread - folks need to be clean about diaper changes amongst large groups of children.
