I need a dehydrator? I would assume the cheap ronco kind are terrible, but other than that, I don't know how to choose? Anyone have any advice for me?

Thanks,

Then there's Excalibur I've heard mentioned, but those are super pricey.

What do you ladies think? Is a cheaper one okay? Or do I really need a more expensive one?

Thanks!

I have the nine shelf, Excalibur, with the timer. I love it. They make one, just as large, without the timer, and I think it is cheaper. You can only buy the ones with the timer, directly from Excalibur, or at least it was that way when I bought mine two years ago. The little booklet, mine came with, was nothing, but useless. It was no more than a simple manual. I ended up buying their dehydrating cookbook, but from another company, and cheaper. I got a 10 year warranty with the dehydrator, for free. Anyway, I love the dehydrator and it is running full of yellow squash and zucchini now.
