bluegrassmom
Hi ladies! I have a big bunch of October/cranberry beans that I got from the Amish. They are already shucked out of their pods and I have placed them in my dehydrator trays. (They did spend the night just dumped into a big crock dish.) But do I even need to bother to turn the dehydrator on? Or just let them dry naturally sitting in the trays? Also, some of them are changing color just a bit. Is that normal?? Thanks!! CrabGrassAcres
What color are they changing from and to? They may dry ok, but it depends on your humidity and temp and the air flow around the beans. Were the hulls dry or damp? Link to comment
bluegrassmom
Hulls were nice and dry. They are a pink striped bean with a white background and some are completely pink. The ones that turned took on a yellowish hue. Not totally yellow, just a hue. Also the ones that turned were the whiter ones. The majority still have their pretty pink stripes. Link to comment
