Tammy
Ok, here's the scoop: I cut up 3 roasts on Friday afternoon.........seared them and then put them in boiling beef broth for canning..... ran out of time and put it in the fridge.....went grocery shopping, school shopping and tending to garden, etc all weekend.... basically got busy and forgot about it. The added groceries in the fridge hid the pan and I rediscovered it last night. I have it on the stove boiling away now and was wondering if I should throw it (since it's been 3 1/2 days in the fridge) or can it. I say can it since I don't want to waste the moolah... however, hubby says not to do any canning until I come here and ask expert advice. LOL...go figure.... Soooooo, what do you all say? Should I can it or throw it? Usually we have a 3 day rule on food in the fridge...after 3 days throw it out to the cats. It looks ok, smells ok and I really really don't want to waste it...... I'll even taste it (after it boils for 1/2 hr or so) Anyone? Link to comment
Violet
I would not can them, personally. Glad to hear you are careful about the 3 day rule on foods stored. To me, if they are not safe to eat, they are not safe to can. Link to comment
