Floating Pickles

I am brand new to canning. All the pickles are floating to the tops of the jars.

Is this supposed to happen or did i do something wrong?

They float sometimes if they are not packed real tight. You need some movement in the jars so that pickling liquid will penetrate the cukes enough. As long as you used a current, safety tested recipe and processed them properly, then they are fine.
