Cabbage Patch Stew question

Recommended Posts

I had Cabbage Patch Stew recently at a restaurant, then found this recipe that sounds very close. (Except the Bisquick dumplings.)

Has anyone made anything similar, and how do you make it so the entire stew doesn't taste of the cabbage?
