Eek! Violet!!!!!

I ran into Walmart to pick up more jars this afternoon and was surprised to see (first time, I've actually seen it) Mrs. Wages Pickling Lime. I didn't think to check the back of it for contents but did check the directions, there wasn't a recommendation for rinsing off before consuming. Is it the same pickling lime that we talked about in an earlier post?

Yep, same stuff. I think the calcium chloride (Pickle crisp) a much better and safe product. Some of the older folks like the lime, though.

I've not used the pickle crisp, may it try next year tho. I have always used the lime. Takes some time to wash them three times but they have turned out good so far.
