WormGuy
Okay, I'm sitting here thinking about the corn I'm going to dehydrate and the process involved. 1. Shuck the corn 2. Blanch the corn 3. Cool the corn 4. Cut the corn off of the cob 5. Dry the corn I am wondering to some what speed things up can I cut the corn off of the cob and then blanch? I am thinking that it would take less time to cool the corn this way instead of having to cool the entire cob which after the corn is cut off it is thrown away, Would this affect the quality? lovinit
My Excalibur book says to STEAM the Corn ON THE COB to set the milk. Try a few kernels, if the milk doesn't exude it is ready to dry. Cut corn from cob, put in single layer on the trays at 125 F. Stir ofen to facilitate drying Quote Link to comment
