Judy Moist
Yesterday, the news released a very touching story here in our town, about a teen girl on her way to vote for the first time.... On her way to the voting precinct her car was hit by a eighteen wheeler truck. She was trapped in the car and had to be cut out with the jaws of life. She was taken to the hospital, she has some extremely bad cuts on her eyes and her face is bruised up, she had some serious cuts and bruises over a good percent of her body. The poor girl could barely walk, she was hurting so bad. But she made her family take her to the voting precinct after receiving treatment, so that she could vote..... I call that dedication and determination.... Quote Link to comment
Homesteader
I am glad to hear this. Unfortunately, despite all the "Rock the Vote" promotions and MTV commercials the young do not vote in large numbers. I remember how happy I was to vote the first time at 18. I've never missed an election since. Quote Link to comment
psarnes1
WOW thank the Lord she is ok. I mean I know she is hurt but thank goodness she is not dead. I wish all the other young voters had her determination not only with voting but with other things that life brings. Smooches to All!!! Quote Link to comment
Bamboo
I heard a statistic on the news that stated in the 18-28 year old range only 10% voted. I don't know where they got that information, but wow.... that is kind of sad. On the other hand there were three young people voting for the first time while I was at my precinct.
