Growing sprouts would be the best addition to a canned and dry food diet in tough times. If you can grow your own vegetables you can add additional nutrition and if you can't you can use a larger variety of sprouts. Homesteader Posted February 5, 2005 Share Posted February 5, 2005 I love sprouts and used to make my own all the time. I still have those plastic screw on lids that you can use on mayonnaise jars to sprout your own. There's nothing fresher tasting than a crunchy mung bean sprout. Link to comment
