Not only is it thrifty,it is a soluble fiber that helps with blood cholesterol levels and a healthy gastrointestinal system. If plain oatmeal is boring..add fruit and or nuts! Link to comment

Bake it into cookies or bread. fry a bit in butter and then pour over hot broth, simmer. Make cereal bars. Whir it in a blender, and use it to replace flour in baking. Link to comment
