  1. speaking of drive ups.....................

One thing I used to do when in NYC was when we got to the toll booth tell the person (toll taker) we are paying for both cars, the one we are in plus the other car behind us that has family in it.

Then we take off while the car behind us 'tries' to catch up to see WHO payed their toll!

  2. I don't want to say THINGS ARE BAD BUT.......................

Thunder sounds about 10:30 last night then wind picked up. Started to drizzle a bit but not enough rain for a millipede to wash his feet in!

It is so dry around here that you kick up dust when you walk in garden. Grass is drown and DEAD! Flowers droop each day I don't water them, Heat is so high people are being told to not be outside during the day!

Farmer Market is down as most of them are in parking lots and it is just too hot for people to be out there shopping! They are just coming in, grabbing what they need and leaving.

  3. I guess we are very Lucky as we have many Amish Friends so we will just go there?

As for cooking and putting food by without electricity? Well again we kindda are doing it that way now.

For me anyway living like we do now I think that there will not be much change in the way we live other then all the people that will come our way to ask ..........................

Now WHAT was it you were saying last year? :sHa_sarcasticlol:

  4. I LOVE drive ups!

My best in the last few months has been to listen to what they say to the car ahead........................

Then when I get to the speaker repeat it before they can.

"Hi, welcome to McDonalds what can I get for you today?"

    Silence.

Then a giggle and start over.

  5. Know what you mean..................................

Caught 4 woodchucks so far this year in live-trap and then went for a ride out into the country.

They are eating everything this year seeing they can’t find food out in the wild due to no rain.

I have had to replace things like cabbage, broccoli, lettuce, Brussels sprouts, etc. 3 times because they are eating things right down to ground!

Luck that I can catch they fast right after I see the damage in the morning ( I use cantaloupe pieces).

The last one was out there in the middle of the day and after I chased him , put out trap and had him in15 minutes!

  7. think of it as doing 'outreach programing' for this forum when you are helping others on the radio!

They may not be able (or are ready) to come here so You are the tie that binds!

BUT you better come back here more often then once a year! :sHa_sarcasticlol:

  8. Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,

When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,

When the funds are low and the debts are high

And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,

Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,

As every one of us sometimes learns,

And many a failure turns about

    When he might have won had he stuck it out;

Don't give up though the pace seems slow--

You may succeed with another blow,

Success is failure turned inside out--

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,

And you never can tell how close you are,

    It may be near when it seems so far;

So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--

It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

  9. My sister has a lifesaving tool in her car designed to cut through a Seat belt if she gets trapped. She keeps it in the trunk.

My friends and I were on a beer run and noticed that the cases were discounted 10%. Since it was a big party, we bought 2 cases. The cashier multiplied 2 times 10% and gave us a 20% discount.

I couldn't find my luggage at the airport baggage area, so I went To the lost luggage office and told the woman there that my bags Never showed up. She smiled and told me not to worry because she was a Trained professional and I was in good hands. "Now," she asked me, has your plane arrived yet?"

While working at a pizza parlor I observed a man ordering a small pizza to go. He appeared to be alone and the cook asked him if he would like it cut into 4 pieces or 6. He thought about it for some time before responding. "Just cut it into 4 pieces; I don't think I'm hungry enough to eat 6 pieces."

  11. Mine is in too (always end of June so I can plant something else in its place - Beans this year).

I just pulled from garden and layed them out on deck for a day or two to dry. Then cut bulbs from stems and store in a cool place until needed. Two didn't make it into storage . . . . .oh they were so good! :feedme:
