I think I NEED to take out a timer with me when I weed!
Again I went out to weed vegetable garden for a bit today at 6:30 am and before I know it Lori is ringing the bell to see where I am?
It was 8:45 and she wanted to know how long I was out there - OOPS!
So I TRIED to stand up and walk back inside without falling over. Do carry the cordless phone with me whenever out there so I can call -just in case. AND always have water in the tote as well.

Been there - done that!
Poor Lori didn't use them and had to work for DAYS with hurt hands.
But I was thinking that maybe I could do that to some of the hot ones we have?
Now we do make this up and it is good on any meat OR even on Scrambled Eggs!
MARTHA'S (Amish) HOT PEPPER BUTTER
*42 hot peppers - ground up 1 cup Flour
1 pint Mustard 1 ½ cups Water
1 quart Vinegar 6 cups Sugar
1 Tablespoon Salt
* You can mix hot peppers with med. Hot or just use mild if you don't want it too hot.
To Make:
> Grind up peppers (without seeds), add Mustard, Vinegar, Sugar & Salt.
>Bring to a boil. Make a paste with the flour and water then add that to
the mixture. Then boil 5 minutes more.
> Put into hot jars and put on rings and lids.
> Water Bath Can for 20 minutes to seal jar lids

Great news, Dee! We hadn't seen many honey bees in a long time. This year, we are seeing a lot of everything!! Birds, bees, flies...you name it! I think it is because the winter was so mild.
Same here!
we are seeing a more and more as we pick for Market this year then in the past. They must like the 'dry' weather we are having because I am NOT!

So here comes Summer when prices for Fruits and Vegetables SHOULD be cheaper BUT with all the weird weather around here things will not be cheap, IF we can get them at all! No upstate Apples due to freezing temps in early Spring. No Cherries either (just got the word we will not be picking this year). Peaches are hit and miss, and others are not coming down in price at all this year and bins are stores are low and not the best pickings.
So If you plan to can what are you doing to save money at the markets?
I thought this post might be a good reminder of what we can do.

How in the heck did you get vegetarian cats, Michael?
Both indoor cats?
They will only eat dry cat food and it must be 'flavored with fish or salmon' NO bits of meats?
They will not eat any meat we have for Dinner. IF we eat on the floor (don't ask) One will eat the mashed potatoes and the other steals the carrots.
Tobie will lick at cow’s milk but not goat’s milk? Maggie LOVES Olives but she digs out the pimento (red) and eats them like crazy and leaves the olive (green)?
A mouse got into the house and they both chased it around and whenever they pounced on it would lift a paw and 'meow' <--- mean RUN MOUSE!
All at once they jumped on it and when the paws came up it didn't move. One of them just kept hitting it and looking at me <---- dead batteries Dad? I had to pick it up and carry it outside.
When eating in bed they will sit there looking at us as we eat the hamburgers begging for a French fry or a potato chip to lick. Reach out with the burger and Tobie will eat the bread but not the meat?
AND we will not even get started on how they drink their water! Tobie drink from a rabbit bottle on the wall, and LOVE her baby bottle that she holds while I squeeze the water out for her to kick/suck. Maggie will drink out of a glass BUT only when we put it on a coast by the dinner table (they both drink this way while we eat and will just sit there if we forget to put down the glass, no meowing at all. Up in bed at night they both have little rabbit water bottles and we each have to have a cat on each side of bed drinking. Sometimes Tobie will rush to finish her and run across our legs to ‘help’ Maggie finish.
BUT other than THAT they are just house cats...................................................

.................. so that is what was going on?
I have a railroad scanner and the trains behind me were all delayed and west to Buffalo was starting to stack up. So it really made a mess of things all the way into New York.
