  1. OK, I knew that because I always plant eggshells (ground up) with Tomatoes and other things in garden.

    Now as to 'eating' them-

I think I would make sure that I washed then real well just in case any of that bad salmonella was left behind form the eggs? Never had it with the chickens that lay our eggs but you never know?

  2. OK

just found out John os stopping the listing and today there is a great book even if you don't look everyday at the List.

See the 12/18/12 listings for a great FREE book on making one of those small survival tins in the breath mint tin!

everything is there for you to make one!

well........... except you have to get your own stuff. LOL

  3. AH- update on the KF disabled flash. I sent you a message on how to find it.

Thanks but it must not be on the Kindle Fire?

I did get to see it by going to YouTube and loading it from there onto Kindle.

It was our 'date movie' of the week - Lori and I were at Library checking on things so we went to sit in Wi-Fi area and found it, loaded it and listened with our earplug so we could hear the sound.

Now what we have is just a 'bud' headset but if we sit together on the couch and each put one side of bud in our ear we can listen to what is being said. People walk by seeing us both huddled together watching the small screen and think it is so romantic - but we have to do that so the cord from the earplug doesn't pull out! LOL

Also watched a few of the outdoor Christmas Displays on YouTube while there. Wish we could have turned off the Library Lights but we were not alone.

  4. :008Laughing:

    sounds like my cat

I usually resort to ripping up pieces of scraps of paper in to a ball to toss to distract him for a few minutes at a time. a closed door simply meets with little paws reaching underneath the door, along with cries to be let in. poor fella LOL

Oh, been there - done that!

and they made the meow sound just like " I CAN"T believe you did that to me! LET ME IN!!!!!"

  5. ...................... I have to find some way to get my Kindle to 'watch' youtube as for whenever I try it sys I need some program first?

As here at home with dial-up it takes forever just to load the fisrt 20 seconds.

  6. for me ..................

Helped Butching 4 large hogs ( the dead was done yesterday and they were hung out late night) see shoutbox for details.

But lots of meat was 'put up' and I got to bring home all kinds of good pork for us as well.

A very fun day for me working with Amish Friends.

Lori keeps saying I smell good! after a day of maning the fires and cook pork outside I should!

  7. a seach of the net turned up both pro and con for sharpening your reel mower.

We have done it in the past and it is a pain to get it done right so it still mows. Our Amish Friend does it for $15 (shearpen, sighten anything that needs it and oil parts) and seeing we have a small area to mow we can get by with doing it every other year. Plus we have 2 (plus a spare) so we can mow together.

  8. There are a few GREAT books in todays listings of the website wormie posts for us most days!

    and a few others........................

So go to any post he had and then look for todays books in Pam blog-site if you don't have it bookmarked aready?

  9. Stopped by the next morning to check in on them (and bring more supplies) and all are doing better but resting at home for the next few days. Also got word to her sister so she can come over to help with cooking and laundry etc. Funny part is Mary is the one with Lyme disease problems and she was just feeling better the start of the week, she get tired a lot and needs to rest but was trying to do it all by herself.

    :AmishMichael2:

    .

    Kindle

OK now that we are talking about 'saving' is there any way to save books I have on the 'Kindle Fire' to some place else in case it crashes? I would hate to lose what we have there now.

  10. to start with there is the flu going around our Amish Friends again.

Some Amish Friends have low water i wells or none form so little rain this summer and fall.

Some homes are out on counrty roads with nobody living near by.

Micheal was alone in van going from 1 Amish Family to another delievering messages while Lori was visiting and helping at 1 Amish Friends place.

OK now that you have some backround...........................

This story will remind you of old poineer days out west!

This morning I was driving back to get Lori and took a side road on a back road to get there and when I was passing an Amish Friends house I heard someone calling my name?

As I looked over to the porch (set back from the road) I saw Mary waving her arms for me to stop.

As I pulled up she called out-

"Everyone here is sick but me and we ran out of water and have no more Kerosene to cook with!"

She said she had cans to put it in but can’t leave as Husband is too sick to even get out of bed and the two little ones are in bed as well.

I told her to go back inside and I would get the kerosene can and some buckets for water and go get some for her. After I left I passed her Father in his buggy going over to another farm to get a load of wood and asked if I could go the their farm for stuff instead of going all the way into town for the Kerosene?

    YES!

So I went and get it (and also told her Mother what was up)and then picked up Lori and we headed back in just a few minutes.

    Now-

IF I had not gone that way?

Or had not stopped to talk (to long) to an Amish Friend?

Or who know what else? I could not have been right there at the right time to help.

That seems to happen a lot with us…………………… and we are glad for it!

    Praise God

  11. OK -

    I found this out.............................

Go to chat and type something (so you are 'there')and then look to the right and there is a place to 'open a new window' for chat

click that and a small box opens with the' chat room' and when you go back to the main page there is a number next to the chat listing (that be you) BUT if someone comes (number goes up) in just go to the chat page and type!

    COOL!

    :AmishMichael2:

    Kindle

hey - got that book on mine-

very basic book on canning but a good read as a reminder!

John -a.k.a. :wormie2: has been posting the list from 'Pams blogsite' here and if you go to her site from there you get the list with links. Most of her listings are for free books.

Thanks wormie as I now check daily for what she has to offer.

  12. Hey Everyone!

Very warm days here and it is December!

worked with Amish crew today on pole barn raising and we all were working without coats on.

    still no snow on ground?

Had to come in here everyday and wait for things to load just to say hello but we are doing fine and very busy.

    :AmishMichael2:

Next day and it is a whole different world!

Cold and windy maybe get to 40 if we are lucky. Snowing off and on but nothing on ground yet?

Had to go back to jobsite but everyone had gone home for the day, good for them as the Flu is making it rounds and we done need anyone else sick in Amish area.
