  1. Are you just using lard?

It's best if you use FO or is it EO (brain dead).

Anywho, the smell won't last as long and you will have

to use more of it. Couldn't hurt.

Other than that, your ok to go.

  2. This morning my husband wanted to take some medication

but wanted to make sure it didn't interfere with his

other medication. He was looking up drug interaction

web sites but could not find a good one, most wanted

    membership.

I told him that on my forum there was a link to to

one. While he was sitting at the computer and I was

standing and working the mouse. I came here went to

Flu Clinic, and did a search.

When I am in a hurry I tend to overlook things. He

was rushing me, or maybe he wasn't but the point is

I couldn't find it right off. As soon as he got off

the computer I found it right away.

Long story, short. Could we put really important links

somewhere easy to find? Without conversation in them,

only the link and what it's for.

    Buttercup...

I bought this pattern.. still waiting for it to come in.

live the name of this site.. buckaroobobbins! too cute!

scroll down to the sketch of apron...

I (still) OWE YOU an apron! I have the fabric.

Can you imagine wearing something like this everyday?
I don't know if I could get used to all that fabic being
    in my way!

I'm a jeans and T-shirt kind of person, but I do love
    aprons.

The apron Butter showed from ebay is what I want but
    that's not my size. DARN!
(Vintage Full Bib Apron Pinafore Floral Full Skirt-
The apron goes on over the head and has actual armholes. There's a tie at the waist in back. The skirt is full and very fifties. Two front patch pockets.)

OK, I have a question. I have apron patterns, but they
are ONE SIZE FITS ALL. How do I take one of these
patterns and make it fit a plus size person?

I have another quesion? When having a party and you are
still preparing the dinner and you go to sit down should
you still have your apron on? Especially if it is an
elegant one, you know one with lace and frills? I have
seen movies (50ish) and they have these see-through aprons
that match their dresses, do you keep it on?

I have some of these aprons but they are so delicate,
and I certainly don't have any outfits that would match
    them.

I submitted the post to give you the idea for the

bib style using dish towels. You know the top one

could be nice and the bottom one could be any kind

of towel. Maybe use buttons to hook them together.

That way you could mix and match and if the top is

still clean button on a clean bottom.

I have a half apron (I could really use the bib type, my poor shirts), but I love it because it has a hand towel sewn right on it, and a couple nice size pockets. I wish I would just sit down sometime and look at it, and make another one.(cuz I can sew? lol. I like to pretend!) I'm pretty sure this one is old, and I'm making it fade. The pattern is some vintage looking stuff and the handtowel was bright red. But I use it all the time.

  6. I grew up on beans. Pinto bean soup, Grean Northern bean

soup, chilies, soups, soups.... I hated everyone of them!

I became an adult and now love everyone of them. It was

like overnight. I can't fix any of it, noone will eat any

    of it.

I keep adding beans here and there to get the kids used

to beans but they pick out everyone of them.

What's the deal here...they like refried beans. ????

They know it's beans. What makes the taste so different?

They will even eat homemade refried beans. Weird.

  7. This is the internet! LOL

When I'm on the computer I have at least 4 pages open!

That recipe seems good for throwing whatever you have on hand at the time. Leftover pork chops, smoked sausage, etc.

    :)

Here is the recipe I found minus the pig ears,

    feet and tails.

    INGREDIENTS

1 lb of varied pork sausages (prefer smoked sausages)

    1 lb of pork tenderloin

    some slices of bacon

1 can of black beans (15.5Oz)

    2 tbs vegetable oil

salt, garlic, chopped onions and bay leaves (bay leaves give a special taste to feijoada)

    PREPARE

Feijoada is made with black beans and pork meats.

You can use a can of beans already cooked or learn how to cook dried beans.

Add black beans to a medium-sized pot with 2 tbs oil, salt, garlic, chopped onions and about 6 bay leaves.

Cook for about 15 minutes in med heat and set aside.

In a separated pan fry, cook cubes of pork tenderloin and slices of bacon with salt, garlic.

Add all the sausages sliced and stir medium-heat until dry all the water.

Add the cooked meat to the pan with the black beans and your feijoada is ready!

Cook your feijoada more 10 minutes to meat soak in the black beans. You can add some pepper sauce to your feijoada at this point.

Hint: to make the feijoada creamy, liquefy 1/2 cup of black beans in the blender and add to the feijoada.

    SERVE:

Before serving the "Feijoada", you can serve a caipirinha as an appetizer. (This is a cold beverage)

Feijoada is a main dish frequently served with white rice, collard greens and seasoned manioc flour (farofa).

    (White hominy)

To follow the "Feijoada", we serve orange segments as a dessert.

What do you wash your dishes with now? Look on the

back, does it list fragrance? Then it's ok. Does

yours have a color? ok. I would not but herbs or

    flowers in it.

In this case I would tell everyone. It is your own

    personal preference.
