I'm here. I come here every morning about 7:30 - 8:00.
I'm doing great. My due date is the end of this month.
Boy, am I ready. So far he's been a good baby, doesn't
kick too hard (lol). My hands and ankles have just started
to swell, so far that's been the only bad part.
I don't post unless it's something I know or have an
opinion on. I'm one of those people to like to sit
back and watch or in this case read.
Looks like the board has been kind of quiet. It looks
like noone is preparing. I can say the same. I haven't
gotten anything extra. I don't have any more room to
buy anything else and I don't really know what I would
buy.

Me too. I've been a stay at home mom for 7 years.

Our weather is HOT! We got very little rain and the grass
is still crunchy.
This weekend we went to the Kentucky State Fair. One the
way home we got a flat tire on the interstate. We took my
parents with us so we had 2 men to put on the spare. They
were very fast it only took about 5 minutes to change.
I also canned 18 pints of crushed tomatoes. I think our
tomatoes are finished, except for one or two here and there.
I had a very busy day. I just got home and
have not been home since this morning. I had to get
a new tire, plus we needed a tire alignment, which took
forever! (20 miles to) Then I had to run some scrapbook pages to my mother (20 miles back) then go pick up my daughter from school then go get my other daughter from
school (20 miles to) and then come home (20 miles back).
I was only driving today, but I am exhausted!
Time to go fix some dinner. Shake-N-Bake chicken legs.
Have a good what's left of the day.

Most days are like that but not all.
Sorry but I don't like soaps. It's like once
you are drawn in you can't get out. I like to
read and watch Dr. Quinn. Right now I am reading
a christian romance called Texas Belles and it is
really good.

I use Hooked on Phonics. This is the only program that
worked on helping to teach my daughter to read. It cost alot but well worth it. I wish I could have found it
used, but it is such a good program I can see why people
are holding on to it.

I'm like you, except I cleaned the kids room before school
started so that they would know where everything is on
their own. My husband made new beds for all the kids so
basically we hade to take everthing out the rooms so it got
really cleaned up.
I've also got most of the kids Chirstmas shopping done too.
I'm the kind of person who likes to have 90% of my shopping
done before the end of September. My family thinks I'm crazy
but who want to go shopping with a gazillion people clawing
and trampling all over you.
Our weather is calling for rain this afternoon also. We
also need it, when you go outside the grass is crunchy.
I didn't really post what I was going to do because my
days are kind of boring with the kids in school now.
Let's see.... I homeschool my kindergarten son, I have a
big bowl of tomatoes that I'm trying to figure out what
to do with. Did laundry yesterday. See kind of boring!
I hope everyone has a good day.

Buttercup, I like the new siggy picture, it's so cute!
I wasn't hiding, I just don't have alot of advice when
it comes to sewing. But I do love aprons!

Westbrook, may I ask what your fist name is?
Buttercup, who were you talking to? Westbrook or me.

Buttercup: Good buy on the milk. I'm like you, I have
lots of eggs, 10 dozen right now. I hope to get those
sold next week. I got an order from this guy who is going
on a fishing trip and wants 15 dozen at the end of Sept.
That's alot of eggs!
Milk in our area has gone down. I didn't notice until
you mentioned it. In July it was $3.39 and I went
shopping yesterday and the price was $2.99. I keep
my grocery recipts just for that reason, so I can see
the price differences from month to month.
-
I also love aprons. I have a collection of about 20 or so.
I tried to make my own but since I can't sew it didn't
turn out very well. Since then I have found cheap ones to
wear. I wear a cobbler style apron for ease of putting on
and taking off. Here is a link for really cheap aprons,
this is where I got mine.

When traveling you learn some interesting things.
When we were in Maine my dad ordered a milkshake
and he noticed that she put milk in a blender and
that was it. He told the girl that she had forgotten
something. The girl told him that he ordered a
milkshake and that's what he got. He told her that
he wanted ice cream in it and she told him that he
should have ordered a frappe. We had never heard of
anything like that!
While we were in New York at a steakhouse we ordered
chopped steak with mushroom gravy and they told us they
only had mushroom sauce. It turned out that they were
the same things.

Schools start Aug. 11 here. (KY) They start
early because they get a fall break in Oct.
This is fairly new in our area.

If you are needing a new microwave, now is the time to
get one, with kids going off to college they are priced
really cheap.
Mine died last year and I was lucky that it died
while back to school sales were going on and was
able to buy a cheap one.
If you need new bedding now is the time to look, same
great sales.

I put something together tonight that was cheap and fast.
It was like Hamburger Helper but homemade.
1 lb hamburger, I use ground turkey
1 bag of egg noodles
2 packets of brown gravy
3 cups of water
dash of pepper
Brown the hamburger, drain. Meanwhile, cook the egg
noodles in water, per package directions. After draining
the hamburger add 3 cups of water and the packets of gravy.
Drain the egg noodles and add to the hamburger/gravy
mixture. Cook over med/high heat until the gravy thickens,
stirring every once in a while. When thickened up add a
dash of pepper.

I live a couple of miles, 3 or 4, from a wildlife preservation and about a month ago they had wild
turkeys that were overpopulated and so to combat
the turkeys they brought in rattlesnakes! They
did not tell the community that they did this and
people were finding them all over the roads and
in their yards. Well my husbands friend told us
about them a week or so later and told us to watch
out for them. I'm sitting there thinking "I hate
snakes and you are telling me to watch out for
rattlesnakes!" I figure since we haven't seen any
that we wouldn't. The next day I need to drive to
town and town is in the oposite direction of where
the snakes are. If you turn out of my driveway and
go left you go to the wildlife preservation and if
you go right to go to town. I get 2 miles past my
house and see a dead snake in the road so I stop, but
do not get out of the car and sure enough it is a
rattlesnake! Now everytime I go out of the house I
always am on the lookout for snakes! I hate snakes!

I ran into this problem last year. Here is what I did to
solve it. I made a list of all the meals that we eat.
Put them into catagories like beef, poultry, pork, fish, pasta, etc.
I go grocery shopping every two weeks, so the Thursday
before shopping day look at my list of meals and choose
14 of them and make my list out. If I see something on
sale while I'm there I go ahead and get it, that way
the next time I make out my list I usually have some
of the meals already.
If you are looking for cheap meals or just something
different here is a link that has just that. I use
some of these meals when I am planning.

Theyd, did you have a hard time finding the Fels?
I have just started getting my ingredients together to make
laundry soap. First I couldn't find the Fels bars, then
finally my Walmart got in Zote, so I am going to use that.
Every store I go in has the borax but I have yet to find
the washing soda!
I got the Zote for 66 cents and was really happy about
that! At that price I got 8 bars. I will have to get
more next week. If I don't ever get around to making
the homemade stuff at least I will have the Zote for
washing.

I just wanted to say thank you.
My birthday was yesterday. It's on the 24th.

They have two kinds, what I call white turkey (it's really
white!) it has like 1 or 2% fat. Then there is the
15% fat turkey which looks just like ground beef (it's
pink).
We only use ground turkey and the 15% ground turkey
taste just like ground beef. The only difference in
cooking is just a little oil to the pan before cooking.

The only problem I see with this that we don't even have
an EXXON or MOBIL in either town that we shop/work at.
I did notice that alot of people were not buying gas
yesterday (5/19). I don't know if it helped or not
because today the gas jumped up to $2.05 for regular.
It was $1.89.
I just don't see a solution to this problem.

I found, I added it to my favorite links, it looks and
sound easy. See if this is what you are looking for.

My husband and I have been married 15 years too.
We always go out to eat (without the kids) and
we don't buy each other gifts.
I'm glad to hear about your van. I laughed when
you told about everyone sitting on each others
laps and got stuck in the mud. Everyone will be
glad to have their own seats.
