  1. Mother canned them like you would any other meat. Use them like chicken with dumplings. If you think they taste wild soaking them in vinegar water will help. Fried squirrel is good too again basically like chicken. It is all dark meat.

I mentioned what Mother did only because I haven't hunted for 40 plus years. She really loved squirrel to eat.

  2. I discussed it with the town police,he called county, and they wanted him to handle it..really we have o county protection if you want to call it that.

Anyway they finally found someone that knew him..but h it was after 10 am before he answered said he as in the house. I am glad to know he is not a corpse.

However I have never known him to stay at home for 4 days.....

  3. When do you know?

My neighbor is/was borderline diabetic. All last week he was bringing in 2 cases of beer a day. No I am not noisy but my dog is!! She lets me know overtime he comes outside leaves or comes back or has visitors, etc.!

Sunday according to his aunt,he was at her house. Monday thru now his car has not moved. I heard a single gunshot from that direction on Tuesday evening.

It has been warmer ,it has been in the 90's and I have not heard his loud AC come on.

    What would you do?

  4. This area here is mostly 'welfare'and among them are some extremely obese people. But they also eat lots of junk food.

On another forum was a discussion with lots of proof that buying all your food not raising any was very fattening and general poor health.

When you raise your own you know what you have, if you can your own produce you know exactly.

The Amish for instance used to raise all their own food but here they are in the business of selling discontinued, overstock, outdated, can goods, low end produce, outdated dairy products..and it is a vicious cycle. They can buy cheaper then raise and they think it is affecting their health. Suddenly so many have gluten intolerance, or is it? mental problems, nervous breakdowns, just generally health problems never known to that extent in their group. The smart ones think it has to do with the food quality. As I mentioned the other group discussion, I think they are so right. Sugar/sweetener is hidden in nearly every food as is corn .

Another thing buying not growing you do not have the choice of non gmo foods.

Then it is also how we are made, with different blood types, some are more prone to diabetes than others.read on dadamo.com. he has done lots of research as have others. Some of us have a harder row to hoe.

Although I had an aunt with diabetes that weighed right at 400..she and her little husband had a Jersey dairy farm and she made full use of the cream keeping half a dozen cakes pies cookies on hand always, and providing ham, bacon, sausage and pork chops, potatoes, gravy etc for breakfast. Anyway I am not thinking it is hereditary.

  5. Mother Earth has an excellent article called Eating for diabetes.

It stresses exercise and diet. Increased weight gain increases the chance for diabetes.

But it also says following diet and exercise regimens, insulin can be stopped.

So many illnesses can be controlled or cured by these simple measures.

  6. Thanks I have not used clear gel before. It is available in bulk at the local Amish store with no instructions.

I made jam and syrup out of them yesterday treating them basically as fresh. They had next to no sugar so I added enough sugar to sweet but not as much as is called for.

It made 13 lovely 1/2 pints.

  7. The porcine has helped many people that could not tolerate or were not helped by the synthetic.

I have a friend that nearly went over the edge on the synthetic. She got the porcine and found a natural health doctor to help get her regulated to start with. Certain foods can send her to the ER which is related to her thyroid problem. There are times when she is on a much higher dosage and times when she can take less. She used Armour for years but their quality changed and she found another natural product that works.

  8. I use vinegar for burns.'Lost control' of a pan of boiling sugar syrup which cascaded over 4 fingers on my right hand. No aloe vera plant, friend told me to use vinegar.I used Bragg's and had no blistering and no pain after soaking a paper towel and wrapping around my fingers.

I use coconut oil for insect bites
