  1. Wow I can't believe I haven't posted in a couple of days. So unlike me. I finally got to go shopping yesterday. I went to the Amish community about an hour away. The lady where I get my milk gave me two big cabbages and some dill.

Wasn't that sweet. I also ordered my chickens. Every year she gets rid of last years birds. She sells them to me for a dollar. So I am getting 50 again this year. Maybe I can actually keep them all alive. They come to me extremely skinny and naked... I am gonna try and have them fattened back up before the really cold weather hits. If not I lose many. Today I did peaches. I canned some in syrup and out of the scraps from the peelings I made jelly. I also started soaking some cucumbers in lime. Lime pickles are my dh's favorites. I still have to blach and freeze those cabbages, unless I decide to kraut them. Which is a possiblity. Anyone no how to keep it from getting soggy? For dinner I made red beans and rice with sausage, homemade corn bread, and salad. My ds made chocolate pudding.

My friend Rachele who is also our neighbor decided to leave her husband for this week. Think she just needed a break. We are hoping she comes home. But.... I understand her plight. So we invited her husband down for dinner. He said he didn't realize how hungry he actually was. He's been keeping himself very busy, and praying she comes home. I think he may lose his marbles if she doesn't. Dh is now napping on the floor by my feet and our kitty muffin is rubbing his feet! LOL. DS is out playing with his potato gun. Lil DD is out playing somewhere and big dd is at church camp. I think we are going to go out and finish mowing the yard and he is gonig to work on his car. Still have to load the dishwasher and finish cleaning off the table. Oh yeah the cabbages...... ugh. And I still have tons of cucumbers that Racheles husband brought me. Must have brought down 8-10 gallons. Thinking of a nap... Oh yeah the cabbages... Ok gotta go, he's stretching now... LOL. Talk to you soon, Hugs!!!

  2. School here starts August 20th... I think my kids are ready.. I go back and forth on how I feel about school and summer... When I homeschooled the kids they were younger and much easier to get along with. My oldest daughter is so looking forward to highschool. The neighbor boy wants to take her to school sometimes. He gets his license in September.. I told that would be ok now and then, unless he screwed up because I didn't want her dad to go back to jail.. Just kidding Mike has never been in jail. But it sounded good.

  3. Sometimes when it comes to family you have to have very tough skin. It may be best to just distance yourself for awhile and when some one asks you or comments on your mom's house tell them you have nothing to do with it. Let him get a fine. Then maybe he will know that someone else isn't going to do it or hand it to him.

  4. Hello all. After hours in the hospital Rach came away with news that wasn't bad at all. The doc said her heart is fine... It's just nerves.. She is very overly paranoid. She makes herself sick if she hears it might storm. He gave her meds to keep her heart rate down. She was on Atenenol same as me.. But he switched it to Toporol xl...My ho is he should put her on a mild nerve pill to take the edge off...

    Thanks for the prayers.

Nana will pray for your precious cat.

Today my son gets home from camp, I pick him up at 11, wash his clothes and get him to his Grandmothers. She is taking him to a play called Charlie. Then back to pick hubby up from his ride to work friends house....Then you know what? I think since I haven't been to the store as in walmart to do any kind of shopping since JUNE 16th, I will go tonight... I am thinking school shopping, just supplies like paper glue crayons backpacks, I don't usually buy the kids new clothes for school. Except at used stores and even that has to wait this year.. And grocery shopping.....I have been craving a steak for I don't know how long...But it will probably be in the shape of a McD's cheeseburger, thats ok I would be thankful for that too! Must close for now . Need a little nap before I need to start running.. Take care and God Bless!!!!

  5. I thought I put more information on here. Hmm. I might have dreamed it. Or put it in the wrong forum. Anyway.... James Patterson is my 5th great grandpa, his son David would be my 4th, his daughter Nancy Jane Patterson Randol is my 3rd her son John Wesley would be my great Grandpa, his son Harold Wesley Randol was my Grandpa and his daughter Mona Maxine was my Mom. I know that some of James's sons fought with Andrew Jackson, I know that one of them died while trying to help people at Donner Pass... There is a book floating out there somewhere. After leaving Tennessee they settled in Shelby and Moultrie County Illinois. This all took place in the 1800's as my Grandpa himself was born in 1900. Some of it might even be dated back to the 1700's. I have registered to Wes's site. But I am thinking it's a different line altogether. Thanks for the links!

  6. Good morning all. Well here it is Thursday morning. And once again I am up at 5am. Must be getting myself mentally ready for when school starts. Actually today I am going with my neighbor Rachele to the hospital. She is 22, and they are going to scope up her leg to see why she has a heart problem. And hopefully repair what it is. She wasn't sure that her mother was going to be coming. So I told her that I would come along with her husband and inlaws. Her husband has some heart problems too. He is nearly 40. Yes I know quite and age gap. There are days where you can really tell the generation gap between them.. And other days it doesn't matter at all. So if ya'll think about it today say a little prayer for her that all will go well.
