  1. I love Direct TV. When I moved here to Denver, didn't really have another choice. I told my brother [my trustee] that I wanted it before I left Los Angeles, so all is good. There are good bundles. I have my tv, internet, and cell phne [Verizon] bundled. You might want to ask friends and family of they have it, too, because if you all do the referral, you each get $10 off your bill. as for moving, it moves with you unless you can't have it for some reason.
  2. HOT DIGGITY DANG!! I've missed this place. I miss the old colors, too.
  3. CGA, you could be right. It doesn't say where she's from on info by her name.
  4. I have no experience with a mobile home, but I see that Xiompaki has her names confused. What she and family had as a kid is MOTORHOME [RV] not a MOBILEHOME. The motorhome is the one you drive or tow and mobile home is the one you see in trailor parks.
  5. Thank you! It feels great to be back home!
  6. Thank you! Finally have a bank account here. FYI!!! Bank of America has NO banks here, only 2 atms.
  7. Hi all! Yep, that's right. I moved from Los Angeles to Denver. GO BRONCOS!! A new start for me and I'm loving it so far. I've only been here since last Sunday [Oct. 14]. It is definitely different from LA and I am sooooooo glad. If any of you are on Facebbook, I've set up a closed page about my adventures here. Please send me [Cecilia Calvin] a pm through FB letting me know who you are and that you from here and I will add you.
  8. Wait, what? Do you know about Coke Rewards? Anyway, you can redeem them for lots of different stuff, magazines to movie tickets and then some. Go to www.mycokerewards.com and check it out. I've been redeeming mine for movie tickets and it comes with a soda voucher. Next on my list to see is Harry Potter. The only part I don't like about it is there a 120 point per week limit.
  9. Redeemed my coke reward points for a free AMC movie ticket and large soda voucher. Harry Potter, here I come.
  10. LibraryMama, that sounds like plain old Home Ec to me.
  11. Ain't that the truth. When I finally got my driver's license at the age 20, I had to ask my dad for the directions to my grandmother's ranch. I'd been going there since before I was born.
  12. (((Stephanie))) I was on my way to the library to return some books and if this thread was stickied, everyone can help others with ideas. Especially thiose new to homeschooling.
  13. This is a cool thread. It should be stickied. While I have no kids of my own, I love reading about yours.
  14. Just bought Backwoodshome's "Recession Proof Your Home" to help get started.
  15. Steph, I now see what you're saying and totally understand. You do what you and yours need to do. My advice was for general consumption. I've always heard that you should have at least 3 months worth of bill payments saved up, just in case.
  16. Actually, paying extra on the mortgage will cut down the mortgage either in months or years earlier. Even if you pay extra just a few times a year.
  17. I think it would depend on how your preps are right now. Can you stop any "big" prep purchases for say a month? I'm talking about if your planning on Angel Foods, LDS, big bulk items. If you can, I'd take that extra money and put it towards any debt. You might want to split up the extra dinero and pay extra on several debts like CC, car payment, mortgage. You don't have to do this every month. JM .02.
