  1. I read many of the new posts on here every day but don't post much. I'm not sure why.  I guess I feel like you all know each other from way back and I feel sort of like a strange,r I guess, trying to worm my way into a family gathering pretending to be part of the family. Sometimes I have a lot I would like to say but I'm just too tired to type it all out. Sometimes I even start a post, get part way through what I wanted to say and think I don't really want to fool with that and delete it. I miss all the interaction too. I never did learn how to post pictures.Once in a great while, I think I would like to post a picture and share what we're doing but, too much trouble to learn how.  So there are my rambling  thoughts. : )

  2. I'm still decluttering. I am focusing on the visual clutter--all the things that can't be put away because they have no place or things that just are not being put where they belong. Things that nobody really wants but nobody wants to make the decision to just get rid of it. Also on paper clutter. My desk is a disaster. I tend to keep "information" because I'm afraid that I can never find that information again if I throw it away. That's really silly but....

  3. I finished the Rocket class and loved it! DS and the two DDs are working on it now.

I organized the Garden Notebook this week. I put all the previous years in a notebook and then fixed a small notebook for the current year.  I have continued to declutter at least something every day.

  4. I signed up for the class Rocket 2018 at this website https://www.fastmissions.com

It covers goal setting, planning, priorities, focus, clarity, etc.

I am on Day 3 and I've already learned more than from any other goal setting articles I've ever read. He makes it so simple! I understood that each reading was supposed to come as a daily email but they haven't. I found them by looking at the Student Comments.

    Weekly Update

I exercised every morning this week! Other than that nothing toward these goals. However, we DID get Mom's house clean and ready for the buyers. The closing is Jan 15 but they are coming for the weekend to move some things in. This will be a vacation home for them. DD1 came and spent the week with us and was SO much help on this and some other projects, We hate to see her go home today but I'm sure she and her DH will be happy. :)

    My Goals

    1. declutter the house and grounds (this is a BIG project)

    2. make a household inventory on video and paper

    3. organize the Garden Notebook (several years worth of data, probably more than one notebook i.e. past years & current year)

    4. organize my recipe notebook

    5. take an online class, or more than one- just something that interests me

    6. exercise to get in better shape (aerobic, flexibility, strength, endurance)

I can go on and on but that's probably more then enough! I would like to post an update weekly if I can remember and if I have time.

  7. Hi Everyone,

I check in every day or so but haven't posted much in a while. We've been busy cleaning out Mom's houses and out buildings. She signed the sales contract last Wednesday and the settlement date is January 15. That's her 81st birthday. I asked her if the settlement would be a good birthday present. She said she wasn't sure. None of us really want to sell the place but it's getting harder to keep it up and pay the taxes. She has a little over 72 acres. The good thing is that DH's 1st cousin and her husband are buying it and they love it. They won't be living there, just using it as a vacation home. They love the history of the place.

  8. I'll bet that's the issue too. I'm not advising you what to do or say but I know exactly what I would do. I would go to the realtor in person so I could see her face and I would say, "apparently there is a rumor going around here that my friend and I are gay. I can assure you that we are not." Then I would tell her about my late husband. The I would ask her if she had any idea how that rumor got started. I'm not sure if I would mention that I thought perhaps all the delays, etc were because of that rumor or not. I would play that by ear I guess.

Your new house looks really nice! Hope you get it all set up soon and can move in. Exciting!!!

  9. It's good to see you back again. Sounds like you've have a bad winter! We had the flu followed by colds that all lasted about 4 weeks. I hope you parents get a really good place to live and you folks too.
