  1. Does there exist a small airless paint sprayer.. the type that paint contractors use to paint a house... that might do for painting a machine? In other words, a paint sprayer would spray standard enamel without thinning and not spray in such huge volume as a typical airless does. Please resist chattering about alternatives such as HVLP sprayers epoxy garage flooring las vegas, heating the paint to spray full thickness, etc.... and stick to the topic of airless. Also, I mean a high-quality unit with paint pickup that you dip into the paint can and with a separate hose and gun...not one of those POS all plastic home-grade things with screw-on paint cups. And yes I realize the quality of finish isn't as good with airless as HVLP...but still should be way better than a brush...So, what say ye?
  2. My garage floor was painted in a nice epoxy garage floor paint I got from a hardware store. I'm surprised how excellent it's held up over the last 3 years.I'd like to clean up the garage floor, fill some cracks in the concrete epoxy flooring Salt Lake, then do it again. It's starting to show wear.1) How do I clean the garage floor good enough to be able to paint over it again and make the old stuff bite?2) What should I fill the cracks with? They are only about 1/8" or so... just cracks from settling.
  3. I have a room with concrete floor in my basement that I want to put flooring on but it has a ridge that needs to be removed. A large concrete grinder on wheels rents for $185 including my gas! Would an angle concrete floor grinder work for this? I need to take off about 1/8" on a 6" wide area that goes about 12 Ft. Thanks.

    Kitchen Floors

I am helping to open a new restaurant over in Kauai. The owners had a tile floor put in the kitchen. I am trying to find an alternative for non slip floors other than those horrible black mats commercial kitchen flooring Brisbane. I slipped on one of the mats and had to get surgery on my knee so I am trying to avoid them. Would love to hear thoughts on alternatives to help keep the floor non slip as much as possible.

    Garage Flooring

Well, it's "decorate the garage flooring Raleigh" time. I've got a one-car garage that is dedicated to the vette and I'm starting to look at flooring. Originally, I thought about the epoxy and flakes, but I want something more designer. I think I'm going to go with orange and gray checkerboard tiles with black border. I just need to decide on what tiles and was hoping to get some input. I know some people have complained that the really rigid ones are a little 'clicky' to walk on. What have you guys used that you really like?
  6. Not new to prepping but communication is definitely a blind spot for me. I have family living 5 miles (direct line) from my house. Driving distance is more like 8.5 mi. Live in hilly area, covered with forest. What would be the best (within reasonable budget) way of communicating if cell phones are not working? I started looking at 2 way radios and know the 35 mile range is BS telenor sms packages. In my area I'm sure that is probably closer to 1, which doesn't really help much. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, sorry for my ignorance on this subject.
  7. Hi. I inherited my brothers little house upon his recent passing and I have never owned my own home. I have several things on my list of updates like get those stumps removed, have the hedges removed and replaced with mulch or stone and I'd also like to get rid of the brown and liven it up some. The house being a light yellow has me confused though. Please give me some opinions on color schemes for this exterior without me having to change the siding licensed house painters near me. I'm a guy so I want it to be modern and not too "girly." I was thinking I would have to paint the window trim and roof trim though if I go with a new color for the shutters. Any help and ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  9. Hi all--Let me first say, I've read a TON and watched many videos before attempting my first sharpening. I thought I had it all figured out, but something went awry. Hoping you might be able to shed some light on my little issue. Before taking my Shun knives to the Shun (1000/6000) stones, I bought a crappy $6 santoku from Target to practice on. Stones soaked, did my best to maintain the angle, sharpened each side for ~4 minutes on #1000 stone, and this thing was just as dull as before I started.Ugh.So... either I wasn't applying enough pressure (about 2-4lbs), didn't do it long enough on 1000 stone, or this knife is too crappy to be sharpening on a stone (packaging said it was high carbon steel). In the numerous videos I watched whetstone cutlery review, chips were remedied with #1000, so I thought this was more than fine for a new blade. One other thought is that I didn't feel a burr after completing the one side. Not sure if that's an indicator of anything.Should I use a "proper" kitchen knife that is dull, or was the cheap-o santoku not tahe culprit?thanks, all!!
