when canning sauces....

when canning sauces do i can it WITH the meat, or with out? for example. i want to make spaghetti sauce. i always cook it with beef, do i can it with or without the beef, why or why not or what about chili and ahicken? someone said something on the other thread about canning meat raw.

Pixie, you can do either/or...I do both. I have plain marinara sauce, and I recently canned chili with meat and made split pea soup with ham that I canned.

 

Just remember when you can meat, even if it is in a spaghetti sauce, to follow the canning times for that particular meat.
