kaseyb (Supermom!)
Today I purchased a 10 qt. cast iron dutch oven with short stubby legs and also a 4 qt. with 1" legs. I got a tripod too. All at a good price. Since the weather is beginning to cool down and finances are tight I've been thinking of ways to do fun things with my family - I think cooking over a campfire out in the backyard would be wonderful! But there's only one problem: I know nothing about how to use a dutch oven outdoors. If anyone here has experience doing this or if you have a good link giving step-by-step how-tos - do holler my way and I'll holler back Link to comment

Of course the most used is a Dutch Oven. how to season http://www.grizzlybase.com/useful/dutch_oven.asp how to bake chicken http://www.lsdos.com/chicken.html basic seasoning, use, size, how many coals to use, recipes and more.. http://y2kchaos.entrewave.com/view/y2kchaos/s35p644.htm recipes..scroll down http://www.isu.edu/outdoor/dutch.html forget the directions it is for store bought dough, but the information at the bottom for achieving a specific temperature is interesting.. http://www.rhodesbread.com/consumer/recipe...hoven/tips.html Link to comment
