Synn
These were two names I remember hearing from my mother.. This is where the Indian bloodline comes into our family.. Do any of you have a membership to ancestry.com or one of the other sites? It seems if you are not a paying member you can't find squat on anyone.. I have another name I would like to research.. Stossmeister.. I'd like to see how far back I could go with the lineage.. I started back on my family tree this summer and then stopped when I found out dd was pregnant.. It's kind of like going to church.. Once you miss a few Sundays it's hard to get back into the habit! Link to comment
logcabinmama
You do have to have a membership on ancestry.com and a couple others, but take a look at USgenweb.com and rootsweb.com they are very good. Do you know where to look, in what state, and county, if so, USgenweb.com is a very good place. Link to comment
Synn
This is hopeless. You know everytime I go to a board it all leads me back to Ancestory.com?? And they want a BIG Fee to join and stay with it.. Link to comment
Guest Guest
What I've done is post the names I'm wondering about at www.genforum.com, and wait for a response. I'm still getting responses now, after 3 or 4 years. I found one of my grandpa's cousins that way too. Good luck! ~Jo Link to comment
Homesteader
Ancestry has a free 2 week trial right now. Join, and then cancel if you don't want to stay and pay. Link to comment
Synn
They are still asking for a credit card which I do not have.. They want it to join.. Link to comment
Homesteader
They make you register with a credit card. Then you have 14 days to cancel the free trial. They won't charge you if you cancel. I don't like to give my card either but 14 days trial is a good deal. Link to comment
Freetobeme
Buttercup, do you have one of the debit cards with a Visa or MC logo? If so, you can use it. Just remember to cancel the service! Link to comment
