Guest Guest
I feel so very sad for the family in Turkey that lost three out of four kids to the Avian Flu. I can't imagine losing one, let alone three. The forth almost died too, but made it through the week. I just can't imagine the pain of losing most of your children in such a short ammount of time. May God be with them....... http://www.cbc.ca/story/world/national/200...dflu060111.html Link to comment

mk7925
What is really going on in China? A missionary friend sahd they are not reporting it all. When they were there in December, there was dead fowl everywhere. They requested to return to the states early. Pray for the situation. Link to comment
cartoongirl
Watching the news today the WHO insisted that the bird flu has not mutated, h-h. Everything is in control in Turkey? True? I just don't know what to think anymore. Yes, also, china is in question. Link to comment
MoonGoddess
The last report I read said it had been reported at one of the holiday resorts in Turkey - now that should be interesting in a week or two when all the holiday makers go home. A lot of Brits hliday in Turkey. UKGUY ______________________________________________ THEASAURUS - A DINOSAUR WITH A GOOD VOCABULARY Link to comment
Guest Guest
There was a snippet on tues. night on PBS-Los Angeles. I sat there with my mouth open in shock. The host of the show equated the bird flu mutating to an infinite number of monkies typing for an infinite amount of time and coming up with Shakesphere play word for word (forgot which one)!! then in the same breath said, 'well, it did happen in 1918 BUT that was a freak case' paraphrased. The Host interviewed a virus specialist on flu's and agreed with him. I Laughed! well he took an unknown person to the public and she had her 5 minutes of fame! She was not part of WHO. Throughout history elected officials have not been very truthful. Since most of the researchers are dependent on government grants, how truthful are they being? Perhaps now they are more truthful, but at anytime these people can be silenced. I don't care what is said... I am just going to muttle along on my own path. Link to comment
kaseyb (Supermom!)
Westie, you brought up an interesting point about health officials not being truthful.... I'm not sure what their tactics are, whether truthful or not, but I do know this: public schools are a money-making business and I read that some children have been exposed to TB in a school in my state. Everything is very hush hush about it though - the administration just patting the parents on the head while health officials say the children are not in "immediate" danger. Someone from CA called into a radio show saying he suspects TB has come here from an illegal immigrant. He said in CA they've had polio and other serious disease outbreaks due to illegal immigrants coming in unchecked. Link to comment
