I think I burned half my fingers

I found a sale on organic whole chickens.

 

I spent the morning cooking and cutting up four whole chickens. I hot packed them into pint jars, weighing out a 1/2 pound per jar. (The instructions I have say to pack loosely.) Each pint, containing 8 oz of meat, will provide one meal for the family (2oz serving each).

 

I got 11 pints of meat and 7 pints of broth, plus I had a bit more broth left over.

 

But, my oh my, my thumbs hurt!
