WormGuy
I am getting some peppers every day and was wondering how to keep them until I get enough to make salsa. Can I freeze them, if I can, do I chop them first or keep them whole. I am guessing it will take about 2 weeks or so to get enough to make a batch. John Link to comment
Pigzzilla
John, What I do is chop them up, and put the little pieces in ice cube trays, cover with water and freeze. When frozen solid, I pop them out and put into freezer bags. Then when I need them, I take out however many cubes I need, put them in a small strainer and run under cold water to melt the ice. Good as fresh!! Most ice cube tray sections hold about 1/4 cup. If you use in a recipe like soup or stew, you can skip the strainer/melt step if you like. Link to comment
SueC
I also freeze them - just chopped and put into bags, I ususally put one pepper in each bag, so I know how much there is. You can crumble off small amounts or use the lot. Link to comment
