need some info on rice/beans

This is from another forum and I thought maybe someone over here could help.

 

1)Do beans need to go through the multi week freezing cycle prior to storage?

 

2)Is there any reason rice can't be frozen after it is packed in 2 liter bottles or vac sealed?

For beans, I would say it depends on how you plan to store them. We have stored beans in tightly sealed glass jars without freezing them and had no problems. You could certainly freeze the rice, but once again, we put it in tightly sealed glass jars and it is fine.
