Clooney Posted July 26, 2007 Share Posted July 26, 2007 I did a test run with just an inch and a half water in my AA canner and there was no way the lid would come off when the pressure guage reached zero. I had to wait til that puppy cooled right down. Is there a trick to the trade? What am I doing wrong? Link to comment

Darlene Posted July 27, 2007 Share Posted July 27, 2007 It's a type of suction seal going on. Make sure you put a very light and thin coat of vaseline around the metal to metal parts that go together. Sometimes I have to take a butter knife wedged inbetween the side and pop the pressure seal to get the lid off. It's not uncommon. Link to comment
