kimba
Ok - this is probably a really stupid question, but..... I know you really shouldn't can in a pressure cooker, but can you cook (like chicken) in a pressure canner? Or am I way off here? I'm new to all of this but I want to start canning and with the help of a meager tax refund I may be able to start. Thanks in advance!! Kimba Link to comment
Violet
Sure, you can cook in a canner, just not the other way around. I got a nice stainless pressure cooker to cook in. I like the stainless steel better for cooking in. The canners are all aluminum. Not good for tomato or other acidic things. I found a brand new pressure cooker at Goodwill for a good price. kimba
Thanks Violet! I was hoping that was the case. I think I'll get the pressure canner first then keep my eyes open for a good deal on a pressure cooker. Now to figure out what to buy and how to use it...back to reading..... Kimba Link to comment
