gulfcoastruth
Went to a big community July 4 party today. Copies of the Declaration of Independance and the Constitution were handed out. Everyone said the Pledge and sang the Star Spangled Banner. Lots of great speakers and a very good Band. One of my favorite songs was "In God We Still Trust" Link to comment
Midnightmom
Went to our city's fireworks display. Community college band played traditional American music/marches by Sousa. Fireworks set to music. Began with National Anthem, ended with Battle Hymn of the Republic. It was a wonderful evening! Link to comment
CoM
Went to a TeaParty yesterday at our capital. Even though it didn't start til 6 pm it was sad to see not more than 3,000 people there. Heck we had that many on the April 15th one and that was on a work day! If we Americans don't get our priorities right soon it will be to late! Link to comment
gulfcoastruth
The event I went to on July 4, as decribed above, was a Tea Party Rally. Among other things handed out, were addresses of reps and tips on how to write good letters...by HAND as they carry more weight. Link to comment
Homemaker
What I wonder is, why do we call it the fourth of July, instead of Independance Day? I think I was a young adult by the time I really understood they were the same day. Link to comment
