Hello....

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

I am new to this, and am "playing" around a little to see how it all works. My cousin, Arby, is on here, and my friend, Stephanie. That's how I found out about this website. There is a lot here, and I would appreciate tips on navigating, or your favorite spot to go.

I have all ready recieved some great advice from Arby and Stephanie, but I'm open to learning more about this site.

I also want to thank my cousin for the great introduction in her last post...it was fun reading about myself from someone elses point of view!!!

Have a great day!

Collette, John is a good friend and one of our few fellows here at the site. He does a lot of canning and cooking, plus he owns the brother of my Anatolian puppy. I won't try to overwhelm you at this point with the Who's Who, but we are a true online community. :)

When you are ready to reply to a post or a thread you have a couple of options. If you hit reply in the post itself, it quotes the whole post and shows it in your reply. And that's fine if you are needed to discuss a particular bit of information from the other poster.

The other way is to hit reply underneath the last post of the thread. Then it will be a box like this, where you can type your text without the quotes from the posts above. For instance you can do that and comment to me, John and Homemaker, all in one post. Kind of simplifies things for me anyway.

You'll find that there are many different levels of preparedness represented here. Some people simply want to be more frugal, learn new skills or maybe just develop a 72 hour kit for upcoming possible bad weather. Others have progressed to self-sufficiency, homesteading and consider this a lifestyle.

Nearly all of us are concerned with the condition of the world around us and want to be as wise as possible in our decisions and with our time and monies so that if our family faces a crisis of any sort, we are as ready as we can be. As for me, ultimately I trust in the Lord, but I also want to be a good steward and considered faithful with what He has given me.

Whatever you do, don't get overwhelmed. Go at a pace you are comfortable with, tackle one project or interest at a time. :hug3:
