zophiel
Mom just called. Little Bro (in college in upstate NY) has been put into 7-day isolation in his apartment because he has H1N1. Mom may run up this weekend to deliver homemade chicken soup-- if that scratchy throat of hers doesn't bloom into something itself. apparently, they've got a well oiled machine up there-- student health immediately sent a letter to all his professors to let them know he wasn't going to be in class for the next week. I'm confindent that he'll be fine-- he's 20, a hockey player, engineer and violist. But. . . it has been hitting the younger folk rather hard, so any spare prayers you all have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Link to comment
Granny
Oh no! Sorry to hear he's ill. Praying for quick recovery and not too difficult to catch up after returning to school. Poor guy will have lots of assignments due from week's absence. Get well soon lil' bro!!!! Bet he'd love some of Mom's chicken soup about now. I also am confident he'll be just fine. The more knowledge we have, the better, so it might be helpful to allieviate concerns by reviewing the emergency warning signs with "flu". What's normal to expect and what's not. (((zophiel))) Things to watch for and when to seek immediate medical attention: In children Fast breathing or trouble breathing Bluish skin color Not drinking enough fluids Not waking up or not interacting Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough Fever with a rash In adults Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen Sudden dizziness Confusion Severe or persistent vomiting Link to comment
