farm~maid
Sunday, August 8th, I simmered whole chickens and veggies. I strained the broth and put it into the refrigerator with the intention of processing it within 2 days. Well, the week didn't go as planned with a few unexpected changes thrown in I didn't get to the broth. It's now Saturday. Can I still use this broth? Can I bring it to a boil, jar it up and process in the pressure canner as usual? I dislike wasting, but if I have to throw it out, I will. Gotta be safe with canning! Thanks so much~ Link to comment
farm~maid
http://www.fsis.usda.gov/factsheets/chicke...focus/index.asp I found this website and found some of "days to keep/eat" a bit off. One of them was the chicken salad - 3-5 days. I don't like to keep chicken salad past 3 days. And, I guess my chicken broth is not safe to eat now. Link to comment

Violet
No Way ! Broth is only good for 2 days in the fridge. Even pressure canning will not make something bad safe to eat. Link to comment
farm~maid
Yep, I did get rid of the broth. I usually preserve broth right away, usually by freezing, but things got away from me this week. Thanks for your help Link to comment
