TurtleMama
I just bought my first 50 pounds of dried corn so that I can make my own cornmeal. DH and I have already popped it into a 5-gallon bucket with a gamma lid, but I'm wondering if I need to freeze corn like I freeze rice, wheat, and all those other grains to prevent the buggies. Does dried yellow corn get bug eggs like other grains? Link to comment
CrabGrassAcres
Yes, it does. If you can't seal it in mylar with O2 absorbers, you do need to freeze it to kill the bugs. I try to routinely rotate any open containers of grains and other dry foods from the pantry thru the freezer too as they can get reinfested. Link to comment
