Dave Digs Dirt Posted June 10, 2011 Share Posted June 10, 2011 I agree that you have to measure it differently and the brand names of kosher salt also differ in measurement - Diamond doesn't measure the same as Mortons. So while it is ok to use, and if you must you must, I wouldn't use it optionally. Too easy to end up with things that are too salty tasting. One suggestion - if you must use kosher first run it through a grinder so that it is much finer consistency. That way it will measure more like canning salt. Dave Link to comment
