Pansy
I would like to buy the 50 pound bag of Bread Flour from Costco, but am unsure about how to store it and for how long?? We bake two one pound loaves of Bread a week, so that amount of Flour is going to last a looooong time for us! If I put it in gallon Ziplock bags, then into a metal garbage can how long would it last. Link to comment
HazelStone
Freeze it first if you possibly can. Otherwise you'll have an epic battle against pantry moths. I put my flour in a bakery bucket and then in my chest freezer for a week or two. The stuff should be good for a year or so. Link to comment
bluegrassmom
Give it at least one good freeze of a week or so. Then put it in a food grade bucket. You can layer in a few bay leaves if you want, they deter bugs. It should be fine then. Ask local bakeries if you can have or purchase their used icing buckets. Link to comment

Pansy
Thanks for the answers! We are looking into a chest type freezer so that would work for the Flour! Good info. Link to comment
