Christy
Just called around to every cooking shop in the country. No-one had lining paper for a dehydrator. Can you use parchment paper (not waxed) instead? I'm cooking pumpkin and want to dehydrate it and pulverize for later use. Link to comment
Canned Nerd
Parchment Paper is a common liner for dehydrators. I've heard that some also use (new) screen door material. Link to comment
Christy
Oh goody! Cos I've got parchment paper and no screen in sight. Will probably turn dehydrator on overnight. Thanks for responding. Link to comment
Violet
Use the parchment, but spray with cooking spray or rub a light coating of oil on it. The screen is the plastic kind, not galvanized, and it is used for drying herbs. Won't work for wet things like fruit leather. Just some small things that woud fall through the other trays. Some people also cut those thin plastic cutting sheets for the dehydrator trays, too. They work well. I don't know what sort of shops you have, but here we can even get them at the Dollar Tree for the $1. Many of the kitchen stores have those thin plastic cutting sheets here. Link to comment
