Jeepers
I get this catalog and always find nice things to look at. This one had some neat ways to store in a root cellar. If you have a handy man that can build, these shelves would be nice. http://www.gardeners.com/Large-Orchard-Rack/38-524,default,pd.html I also like the 'baskets'. The ladies could make the inserts. It says they are jute liners but I'd imagine burlap would work. Or are they the same thing? I've seen a lot of this type of container at Wal-Mart and Target, usually in the bathroom accessories aisle. Or maybe milk crates would work. http://www.gardeners.com/Root-Vegetable-Storage-Bin/FortheHarvest_Cat,38-751,default,cp.html Link to comment
Amishway Homesteaders
we like to use the white plastic ones found at all the big box stores, just get the ones that have holes all over so you get air moving around what ever you put in them. Get the size that will fit on your shelves. I also have made 'crates' using wood slats (scrape leftovers work well) just leave spaces between the side ones. These you can build to whatever size you need. Also use some of our flat trays that hold our 606's (seed starter packs) for things that need to be in one layer. Link to comment
