Annarchy
We are using our telescopes sun lenses. Just amusing ourselves, something to do. Quote Link to comment
Annarchy
Right now, 5:40 pm MST, it looks like a small chunk is missing from the lower right side. Quote Link to comment
Annarchy
Also, trying to identify a new bird visiting the water dishes. The closest I can find is a clay colored robin. Quote Link to comment
Annarchy
1 hour later, the temperature has dropped from 107 to 89 degrees. The sun is 1/2 covered and it looks like we might be able to see the halo before it sets. Quote Link to comment
dogmom4
Didn't have the viewers to see it directly but it looks different outside. The sky is a darker blue and I did manage to snap a shot of the eclipse seen with the shadows coming through the trees. Very cool! Quote Link to comment
Annarchy
Nice picture, definitely odd lighting. Glad you got to see it DM. One of our neighbors was walking by, he had woke up for his shift work and said it felt weird outside. We let him use the lens, he did not know there was an eclipse today. The news said the last full eclipse of the sun was in 1994. Unfortunately, we are too far south. When the moon got near the center of sun, it veered off center, so we missed the halo. Still, a nice change of pace for stuff to do. I tried to take a picture using the lens to cover the aperture , but it came out a blur. LOL Quote Link to comment
