Wm.Mike
Hi I canned some chicken breast last night and have a question. I raw packed qt jars with skinless chicken breast with no extra liquid and cooked for 90 min @ 10lb. After they cooled overnight I noticed that the jar only are half full of broth. Will the chicken above the liquid be ok? Thanks Mike Quote Link to comment
CrabGrassAcres
Yes, it is fine. It may dry out a bit over time and get a bit darker, but it is still good and safe to eat. I would put the less full jars to the front of the shelf to be used first. Be sure to check seals regularly as when the food boils out of the jar, sometimes bits are left under the lid and cause the seal to fail. Quote Link to comment
Amishway Homesteaders
Good Job Mike! and good that you asked the question to be safe. We like it when members ask questions becuse that way we ALL get to see and hear the answers. b.t.w. IF you think one or two may not have sealed just put them in frige and use them soon. a.k.a.
