Jori
I just finished a quick inventory of what I had and what I needed to to. I knew I needed to do tomatoes but I have green beans and dilly beans. I count them separately because they are different and the kids don't care for dilly beans . Does it matter? Quote Link to comment
Jeepers
Yes, I count them differently. I count pickles differently too, as sweet or dill etc. Same would be with corn. Whole or creamed. That way I will know if I need to can or buy more of one variety. Quote Link to comment
Amishway Homesteaders
Love the Dilly Beans! And here is a hint for all who are canning this year...................... IF you are trying a new recipe this year - make a copy of it or write down where you got it. (We have a little photo album that we put ALL recipes we used this year Old and new and list what we used it for and dates canned) That way when we start to use them come the winter or next year IF it didn't do as good as we were hoping, we can go back and see what we did and cross that recipe out (but keep it so we don't use it again. Have one you really liked when you used the first few cans? Take the time to add a little not to that recipe page about what you liked. This way Next Year you will only be canning the BEST of the Best! Quote Link to comment
