I Found Some Canning Jars

I was at Walmart today and happened to end up in the back of the store. I figured as a lark I'd go down the canning aisle. Lo and behold they had the 1/2 pint jars I've been searching for. I tried there once before a couple of weeks ago and they were out of them. Either they ordered more or brought some out from the stockroom to fill in the shelves. Probably the latter at this time of year.

 

Now I can finish my fruit in the size jars I wanted. I stopped off at the fruit market and got some more pears. They are bigger than the ones I got in Amish country but not as ripe. I figure a couple of days sitting out on the counter top will do the trick though.

 

I'm happy today.

That's the size I used for pizza sauce and things, like pickled beets, for DS to take on the road in his semi.
