Politics notwithstanding, this country remains a beacon of hope to many people in an increasingly tumultuous world, and our military keep it so as they protect our interests world wide. Many over the centuries have given their lives for this purpose; and today I sincerely honor those brave men and women who stood fast in the face of death and made the ultimate sacrifice. Their families also deserve honor for their sacrifice of beloved members for the good of all through the coming generations of both born and naturalized citizens who yearn only to live their lives in peace.
