Mt_Rider
https://www.fool.com/retirement/2022/01/20/2022s-social-security-raise-is-already-failing-sen/?source=eptyholnk0000202&utm_source=yahoo-host&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=article So everyone on Soc Security was "thrilled" for the biggest COLA raise since the '80's .... When checks arrived this month tho, there was another raise: payments for the Part B medical. DH and I are each getting about a dollar LESS when that's subtracted. MtRider ....well, no one really threw a party, did they? 1 Quote Link to comment
Mother
We are getting a few dollars more but not anywhere near enough to offset the raise in our Medicare AND supplemental insurance raises. Not to mention all the other ‘raises’ we are facing. And there is still the rise in food costs to factor in. We figure we are going to have $120 extra in costs each month even with the SS raise. It helped some that we switched to a cheaper RX insurance but we are still going to have to tighten our belts. It’s a good thing I am well acquainted with frugality. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
