Our local numbers had spiked around 50 new cases a day, dropped to 20-ish, and are now back up in the 40s.

Annarchy, my iPad is OLD. Version 9.3.5. It can't even be updated further than that I understand so I'm not surprised it doesn't work well with the site. Still, it did fine before the update and I miss using it for Mrs. S. I use it far more than I use my desk top for almost everything. Mine is 2 years old and fully updated. That’s what I was using when I said earlier that it seemed to work fine on my iPad. That could be a possibility. -
Snoods generally took at least 4 and sometimes up to 8 Bobby pins to stay in place, depending on the length of my hair and if I was wearing a hat over it.

It varies from $0 to $2.49 at the height of the shipping issues for me. Just depends on how they’re doing at the moment, I think.

I’m taking my mother out today. She wants to go shopping in the “big city” near by. Will avoid anywhere that it looks like people are gathering.

There is a bowl like thing you can buy where you can put your jar in it to safely vacuum seal powdery items But most people use either a coffee filter or a cupcake liner over the powder stuff before putting the lid on and sealing it. You might have already known that. Just making sure.
I have a little electric vacuum sealer designed to be used with the canning lids. We'll see how that works out. If it looks like it's starting to lift up the powder, I'll find something to stick over it.

If you are getting a refund and not returning it and the seal was broken but the powder was still contained in the bag then I think I'd repackage it and use it.
I don’t have to send it back, and only a bit came out in the bag.
So: vacuum-seal in Mason jars? Would I need oxygen absorbers?

The Kraft mac &cheese I’m looking at is specifically the gluten free kind that they JUST came out with. The price is supposed to be $2.49 and it should NOT be included in any sales. I went back yesterday. They “fixed” it by taking off the $.99 sale sign...meaning it was still marked as $1.29 instead of $2.49. So, another 12 boxes for the pantry.

Hmmmph. I ordered powdered butter on Amazon. They sent it in a plastic canister wrapped in a plastic bag. At some point it was dropped or mashed and the seal was blown out. They're refunding it, but I have to ask...
Would you just repackage it and use it anyway?

Went to Target yesterday. Distinct lack of gluten free pasta (they only had spaghetti noodles). They did, however, have lots of GF Kraft mac & cheese...mislabeled at $.99. If yesterday was the second time I've told them it's mislabeled, am I justified in cleaning out their stock today? 'cause $.99 is a lot cheaper than $2.49, and it'll all get used at our house...

Actually...the kitchen and my stuff are flat out the only areas he will not touch. If he was staying at home, it would all be clean and probably decluttered...

- You can ask the 16-year-old if it's baking POWDER or baking SODA and they'll answer wrong multiple times and think they're telling you the other one.
- Apparently, since there's always baking soda in the fridge, my husband thinks it might belong in the fridge all the time.
- Cornbread does not do so well when the aforementioned 16-year-old uses baking powder instead of baking soda. Came out denser and never seemed like it was cooked all the way.

I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. I empathize. Going off gluten, onions, garlic and all alliums, peanut butter took all the fun out of church potlucks. You will eventually get it figured out but it's a journey for sure.
If it turns out I have to cut out alliums or dairy, I think I'm giving up on feeding everybody else at that point and just buying them flats of ramen and mac & cheese..

I was going to order more Macadamia nuts. I like the little Moana Loa 0.5 ounce packets.
When I ordered them in March, it was $27 for a 24 pack. A bit pricy, but for one of my go-to snacks that's shelf-stable and can live in my purse for weeks - sure.
They're $43 today. I think...I need to find a new shelf-stable snack that can live in my purse.

Ahem. Never use aluminum foil for your hat. They have done a study on it, and it actually amplifies the waves suspected of being the range for mind control. Only use actual TIN foil.

I'm so tired of messing with food. Without doing gluten and nightshades, it greatly reduces my options. If I add in the fact that hubby won't eat beans, squash, or sweet potatoes, it REALLY reduces my options. How the heck am I supposed to build up a food stash when I can't even figure out what to feed us on a daily basis half the time? I mean, I'll stock up on things we can all eat, but mac & cheese and chicken Alfredo is only going to go so far.

I noticed that at the hardware store, they’re out of Medium and Large in most of their gloves. Also, weirdly enough, at the office supply store, they seem to be stocking much less paper than usual.

She’s insisting that she didn’t Brillo the pan, and only used the plastic brush and no soap. Still not sure I believe her.
Hubby’s leg is getting better every day. He’s now using a cane and staying off it some, but he’s insistent that he needs to start getting back on it.

The kids are now banned from touching my cast iron skillet. The one started cooking on high , which I’ve told them to never do, and the other decided to clean it with a Brillo pad.
So...I’m not using it either until I have the time to re-season it again. Arrrrrrrgh.

A friend told us about a chiropractic clinic that charges $80/month for 4 visits, plus $10 for any additional visits. I'm going in today to check them out. I way overdid it cleaning this weekend.
