  1. Still no fever, and I'm assuming that if my test showed up positive over the weekend, they would have included me in the demographic #s for new cases in our area.  Pretty well assuming I'm in the clear, but waiting for the official results first.

Still have just a catch in my breath every once in a while, but respiratory crud always hits me hard.

  2. 97.9 this morning and just a mild headache.

Still waiting on the test results, but maybe it was just a 24-hour bug?

That would also explain hubby going "Well, I had a scratchy throat the day before."  His immune system is a LOT stronger than mine, to the point where a bug that had me throwing up repeatedly just caused a bit of indigestion for him.

  3. I have been tested. I said it’s nowhere near as bad as they make it out to be, but hubby pointed output that I have an extremely high pain tolerance and may have abused my sinuses enough to deaden the nerves.  It felt like a poke, then my eyes watered. That was about it. Temp is up to 100.9-ish. All the thermometers give me a different reading. Hubby wants to try a manual one if we can find it.

It’s a 24-hour test, but they tell you it may take 4-7 days for results.

  4. Sewing masks today.  I’d already planned to sew some.

Hubby said he won’t wear one, so I wasn’t planning on prioritizing his.  Now one of his potential customers says that nobody without a mask can come in, so he’s asking if I can make them for him AND for the guys he works with.  Also making a bunch for up at church.

Our check hit the bank last Sat. and was posted yesterday.  Now I hear they are talking about doing it once a month.  Some how I don't think that is going to happen.

From what I’ve heard, only the one payment was in the legislation that was passed, but earlier versions had 2.

  6. Ours came in.  Hubby's talking about using part of it to build the back porch, but other than that, it'll just sit in savings until there's a light at the end of the tunnel that isn't an oncoming train and get thrown at debt.  That's our general plan for right now - save any extra, and pay the minimums on everything.

  7. Heading into the office today, with a mask on, so the IT people can remotely access everything.

My brain is getting tired of everything.  I'm retreating into fantasy lands more often in the form of video games, and that's probably not for the best.  I should put parental limits on myself so I can't overdo it.

    Posting at same time, Jeepers.

Does launching 60 sound like a LOT of satellites???   :scratchhead:   Be a traffic jam up there!  Bet that was an interesting sight tho, Kappy.

MtRider  ....just don't bang into the satellite I currently use for Internet!  ;)

Maybe if they bump ours, it'll work better....

The world's largest pork producer (Smithfield) has closed indefinitely due to 230 employees at the South Dakota plant tested positive for the coronavirus.

    Sorry I can't link it...Kindle.

It employs around 3,000 to 4,000 workers. :sad-smiley-012:

  10. Our county is up to 32 cases, I believe.

We're in oilfield country - I've been told that a lot of the kids that were going to the public schools have basically evaporated because when their parents lose their jobs/get a pay cut, they move on to somewhere else.  The RV parks are advertising openings on Facebook more than I was seeing before.

So.....do you have any undies that could be retired?  Elastic is in a lot of old clothes.  I always cut the elastic out to save... "Packrat with a Purpose" y'know.    How about some elastic gift wrap ribbon?  I have tons of sizes of rubber bands.  Might catch in hair if not covered.

Or switch to a Velcro closure....adjustable.

    Nose piece:

    bread twisty

the type of wire that bends easy - a bright silver type but I don't know what kind....

If you retire a real surgical mask or N95....save the nose piece...

There have to be more alternatives....???

....DH went to gas station store for milk.  [with me not drinking it right now, it got globby too soon]  He wore a surgical mask and said about half the people had face covering.

Some friends of mine have said that the tie ones are getting much more popular with the nurses, as there are issues with the elastic failing after being washed on high heat too many times.

  12. Y'know, I'm seeing a distinct lack of differentiation between people who were already prepped and people who go clear out all the shelves.

A friend of mine posted this on Facebook.  it's part of a grocery store manager's rant, supposed, about being nice to the grocery store workers.

I'm wondering if she actually read the whole thing, 'cause I'm pretty certain her family is one that preps.

Definitely part of why you don't tell people what you have available.

If the store you go to is out of an item.. maybe find the neighbor or friend that bought enough for a year ... there are hundreds of them... and ask them to spare 1 or 2. They caused the problem to begin with...

We have an ex-nurse sewing masks for the small local hospital near us.  She is using interfacing material encased between layers of cotton.  Not sure if that works better than just plain cotton but these are washable yet hold their shape and filtering ability.

    :grouphug:

Mom said that the ones they're making for EMS have the interfacing in them as well.
