  1. Several years ago, a local Church would take regular folks to Brazil to serve in the bush and help build churches and other building.  The MD that headed it up told all people going to get the animal antibiotics from local farm stores for their own use and to leave with the folks in the villages they served.  They had makeshift medical clinics as well as putting up buildings.

  2. Once upon a time long ago, we wanted to move to the area we now live in, Ozark Mtns, from the big city of Memphis area.  We finally decided to pray that God stop us if we should not move, because we never got a definitive answer.  He did not stop us, and blessed us with a very easy sale, and basically an easy move.  We are thankful.

  3. Bless you.  I heard a song on radio that the man was singing to his wife.  He was saying, if I get to heaven before you, when you come too, don't look for me at the pearly gates, don't look for me on the streets of gold, because I will be at the feet of Jesus.

I may not remember the words exactly, but I sat in the car and cried it was such a sweet song.

  4. Dee, I have been wanting to grow a few things in pots, since DH is not wanting to grow ANYTHING and I can maybe sneak a few pots in.  I will visit our farmer's market on the town square, but some folks truck in veggies from outside our state.  Not what I want to buy.

  5. Welcome back, Mother. I too mostly just stop in to see how everyone is doing.  DH is now 80 and I am 74.  Sometimes I wonder why I stored all I did, and now I am giving some of the older foodstuff away.  Seems like our little city is having so many homeless come in, or people here are having hard times.

At least, we can still do most things we want to do, but we have slowed down, and are trying to clear out useless stuff so the "kids" won't have that burden.  DH is a keeper of useless stuff, but is beginning to let go.

I have recently been re-convienced that things are about to really get bad, and I pray for God's hand to return to us, if we repent.

  6. You may be really surprised by what you see.  Having studied art several years, and done some drawing and painting, I know my colors, usually.  When I came in after my cataract surgery, I walked in the bedroom and said "you mean, I had this room painted that color? " Hubby laughed.  Seems the cataracts tend to yellow vision in most folks.  Well, he is not willing to repaint, but I did change the curtains. My kitchen cabinets really are white, and not a yellowish color.  Funny that the doc didn't mention it until I told him I saw colors differently now.

  7. In our area there are notary publics all over.  In law offices, accounting firms, banks, insurance offices, title companies.  None of these charge folks that I know of, except a few people have signs in their yard, and I guess they charge under $5.  The law office and the CPA office I worked for would do it for free for all clients or people who just walked in.  No charge-good will, you know.  Here the front desk person is usually a notary, if not they call up a secretary and 3 minutes later-you are notarized and out of there.  Good luck.

  8. Family experience only here from me, but my sister gets allergic reactions to some things. Found out "itching palms" is an allergy. Penicillin and all related drugs for her.. Touching certain plants causes it in some folks.

DB has bad dizzy spells where he can do nothing almost. Tried floor exercise, ears treated, etc. Only one doc gave him valium and it works perfectly. Very difficult to get docs to give that. I also used it once for twice for that, and it works. Docs are so afraid of prescribing somethings now days, especially if you are over 60.

  9. Ours is just the opposite. In our town of 12,000 there was a lawsuit a couple of years back because a manger scene was on the Court House lawn along with other decorations. Courts said no more manger scene. Therefore, the whole (mostly) business community took it upon themselves to decorate all around the Square with Christmas decorations, many Christian. Little contest. The entire town took it up, now there a decorations everywhere. People are openly greeting each other and smiling. I am thankful.
